Description

The Nokia AZQC AirScale Micro RRH is a 4T4R, 20W remote radio head for CBRS Band 48 (3550-3700 MHz). This Nokia AZQC AirScale Micro RRH is a used, bench-tested unit pulled from working service — ideal as a sector add-on, replacement radio, or starter unit for operators building out private LTE/5G sites with Rapid5GS Pro.

The Nokia AZQC is the 4T4R, 20W CBRS Band 48 remote radio head from Nokia’s AirScale Micro line. It runs in the 3550 to 3700 MHz range and is the workhorse radio on a lot of private LTE, FWA, and WISP towers.

These are used radios. They were pulled from service in working condition, bench tested in our shop, and verified before shipping. They are not new, not refurbished by Nokia, and they ship without manufacturer warranty. What you get is a tested, functional unit at a fraction of the cost of new gear, ready to drop into an existing sector.

This listing is the radio only. Read the section below before you buy. The AZQC is not plug and play. It is one piece of a larger Nokia AirScale system, and if the rest of that system isn’t already in working order at your site, this radio won’t help you.

⚠️ READ THIS BEFORE YOU BUY

A Nokia RRH on its own does nothing. To put an AZQC on the air you need to already have:

  • A working Nokia AirScale BBU at your site
  • ASIA or ASIB common cards with active SAS certifications. Your CBSDs must already be registered and in good standing with a SAS provider.
  • The right Nokia BBU software files staged on your BBU to upgrade or downgrade this radio to match the firmware running on the rest of your tower. Version mismatches will break your sector. If you can’t bring this unit’s software in line with what you’re already running, it won’t come up.

We do not sell BBUs, ASIA cards, or ASIB cards as standalone products. Those ship only inside our Complete Site Kits.

If any of that is uncertain, get a Complete Site Kit instead. It comes matched, tested, and ready to drop in, and it saves you from debugging a sector at 2 AM. This single radio listing is for operators already running Nokia AirScale CBRS gear who know exactly where the radio is going and what software version it needs to run.

Financing Available

Single radios and full site kits both qualify for our financing program, built for WISPs and broadband operators who want to scale without paying everything up front. CLICK HERE to learn more about our financing option.

EPC Compatibility

LTE doesn’t run without an Evolved Packet Core. The AZQC is fully compatible with the open source Rapid5GS EPC, which runs on your own server hardware. EPC software and hardware are not included with this radio.

More on Rapid5GS:

What’s Included

  • 1 x Nokia AZQC AirScale Micro RRH 4T4R 20W (Band 48 CBRS), used
  • Bench tested and verified in our shop before shipping

Cosmetic condition will vary unit to unit. These radios spent time on towers, so expect normal wear, weathering, and minor scuffs. Function is what matters and every unit is tested.

Brackets, OCTIS plugs, jumpers, sector antennas, baseband, SFPs, and GPS gear are sold separately. For a full sector or a 3 sector site, see our Complete Site Kits.

  • Industrial and government sites

What You’ll Need to Put It on the Air

In addition to a working Nokia AirScale BBU with SAS registered common cards (see the warning above), you’ll also need:

  • SFP+ modules and fronthaul fiber to connect the radio to your BBU
  • DC power at the tower (40.5 to 57 VDC)
  • GPS sync at the BBU
  • A Band 48 capable sector or panel antenna. We use the Alpha Wireless AW3161-M-F in our kits.
  • An EPC such as Rapid5GS
  • An active SAS account and CBSD registrations
  • The right Nokia BBU software files to bring this radio’s firmware in line with the rest of your tower

Reminder: we don’t sell BBUs, ASIA, or ASIB common cards separately. If you don’t already have those, you need a Complete Site Kit, not a bare radio. For ancillary items we do sell separately (fiber, SFPs, antennas, GPS gear, mounts, jumpers), email hello@theedgemile.com.

Optional Add On: Remote Consulting

Need help bringing the radio up? We sell remote consulting in 4 hour blocks. We can help configure the RAN, set EARFCNs and PCIs, and get the S1 link talking to Rapid5GS or another EPC. Email us to add it to your order.

Used Nokia hardware, tested and ready, for operators already running AirScale CBRS. If that’s not you, start with a Complete Site Kit instead.
