Private LTE and 5G Consulting
We help WISPs and private network operators plan, build, and fix private LTE and CBRS networks. The work is remote by default and runs anywhere in the US. We are not a sales team that hands you off. Josh Lambert and Tommy Waldrop run these networks themselves, and every Rapid5GS Pro license and Nokia AZQC site kit already includes 8 hours of our time.

What We Help With
| Area | What we do |
|---|---|
| Packet cores | Stand up Rapid5GS (free or Pro) or plain Open5GS on your own server. APNs, subscriber import, S1 and attach troubleshooting. |
| Leaving Baicells CloudCore | Export every SIM’s IMSI, Ki, and OPc, load them into your new core, and point your eNBs at it. Start with our CloudCore export guide. |
| Nokia AirScale (AZQC) | Commission AZQC radios and the AirScale baseband, plan three-sector sites, and size the -48V DC plant. |
| Baicells radios | Set up Nova 436Q and 430i radios, pick and flash firmware, and unlock FreedomFi-locked 436H and 430H units. |
| CBRS and SAS | Register your radios (CBSDs) with a Spectrum Access System. Josh is a certified CBRS Professional Installer (CPI) and can sign the installation data. The SAS account and the grants stay in your name. Still on Google SAS? Read our Google SAS shutdown guide. |
| SIMs and CPE | Pick a PLMN, program SIMs with our free SIM card generator, and set up CPE like the Titan 4000. |
| The whole site | Tower work through Vertical Axis, freight through DNA Supply Chain, and financing for kits and cores. |
How It Works
- Tell us what you need. Use the form above or call. A few lines is enough.
- We get on a call. We look at your spectrum, your sites, your core, and the gear you already own.
- You get a written scope and price before any paid work starts. Small jobs are hourly. Bigger ones get a fixed quote.
- We do the work remotely over screen share and remote access, and we write down what we changed.

Who You Will Work With
Josh Lambert built Rapid5GS, the open-source LTE/5G core, and founded Alabama Lightwave, a WISP serving West and Central Alabama. He is a certified CBRS Professional Installer (CPI), holds CJIS Privileged Role certification, and does network work for a 911 dispatch center that runs NCIC, so public safety security rules are familiar ground. He presented “LTE/5G for WISPs: Solving NLOS Without Breaking the Bank” at ALANOG-6. Tommy Waldrop co-founded The Edge Mile with Josh. Both are long-time WISP operators.
The guides on this site are the work we do every day: adding subscribers in the Open5GS WebUI, antennas and jumpers for the 436Q, Titan 4000 firmware, and why LTE uses three 65° sectors.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you work outside Alabama?
Yes. Almost all of our consulting is remote, so location does not matter. Hardware ships through DNA Supply Chain, including freight and customs. For tower and site work we bring in Vertical Axis.
Can you help with gear I bought somewhere else?
Usually, yes. We know Baicells, Nokia AirScale, Airspan, the Global Telecom Titan 4000, and Open5GS-based cores well. If your gear is outside what we know, we will say so before you pay for anything.
Do you handle CBRS SAS registration?
Yes. Josh is a certified CBRS Professional Installer (CPI). We can register your radios with a Spectrum Access System and sign the professional installation data. The SAS account and the grants are yours, and you stay responsible for operating under FCC Part 96.
Can you move us off Baicells CloudCore?
Yes. We export your SIM keys (IMSI, Ki, and OPc) from CloudCore, stand up Rapid5GS on a server you own, load your subscribers, and point your eNBs at it. Our CloudCore export guide shows the first step.
How much does consulting cost?
Every Rapid5GS Pro license and Nokia AZQC site kit includes 8 hours. Past that, small jobs are billed hourly and larger projects get a fixed quote. You see the scope and the price in writing before any paid work starts.
What should I have ready before the call?
Your spectrum (CBRS GAA, PAL, or licensed), how many sites you have or plan, the radios and core you run today, and what is not working. Screenshots and logs help.
