If you run a Baicells Nova 436Q, you have probably already discovered the annoying part: the Baicells download site is broken, and firmware is not something you can just go get anymore. That is a real problem, because you need current firmware on the radio to run it legally on CBRS, and a radio that will not talk to a SAS is a radio that cannot legally transmit.
So we are mirroring the two builds we have. Both are below, with direct download links, checksums, and honest notes about which one we actually run. This is the same firmware we load on every refurbished Baicells 436Q we ship.

Both are BaiBLQ builds, which is the firmware family for the Nova 436Q platform. If your current version string starts with BaiBLQ, these are the right files for your radio. Check what you are running in the web GUI before you flash anything.
BaiBLQ 3.1.14.10: The One We Run
This is the newer of the two and the one we recommend. Two things make it the default choice:
- The web GUI is far better. If you have spent any time in the 3.0.12 interface, the difference is obvious the first time you log in. Day-to-day work on the radio is just less painful.
- It is the newest build we have. 3.0.12 is years older. If you are going to keep a radio in service, being on the most recent firmware you can get is the sane default.
It is what we flash on the 436Q units we sell, so it is also the build that has the most hours on it in our own network.

BaiBLQ 3.0.12: The Last Official Release
This one is older, and to the best of our knowledge it is the last firmware Baicells officially published for this platform. It works. The GUI is dated and clunkier than 3.1.14.10, but there is nothing wrong with it.
Keep it in your back pocket. If you flash 3.1.14.10 and hit something specific to your site that you cannot explain, having a known-good older build on hand is worth the two minutes it takes to download it now.

So Which One Should You Flash?
BaiBLQ 3.1.14.10, unless you have a specific reason not to. It is the newest build we have, the GUI is better, and it is the build we stand behind on the hardware we ship.
Download BaiBLQ 3.0.12 too and put it somewhere safe. Firmware you cannot get from the vendor anymore is worth archiving locally, not just bookmarking. That is the lesson the Baicells outage should teach everyone running this gear: mirror what you depend on.
Verify Your Download Before You Flash
Do not skip this. A firmware image that got truncated in transit is one of the easier ways to brick an eNB, and the file is large enough that a flaky connection can absolutely do it. Both files are published with a SHA-256 above. Check yours against it.
On Linux or macOS:

How to Flash a Baicells 436Q
The short version: log into the radio’s local web GUI, go to the firmware upgrade page, upload the .IMG, and let the eNB write it and reboot itself.
The parts people get wrong:
- Do not power-cycle the unit mid-upgrade. It is writing to flash. Interrupt that and you may not get the radio back.
- Do it with the radio somewhere you can reach it. Flashing a unit that is already 80 feet up on a tower, over a backhaul link you are not certain about, is a bad trade. Flash on the bench before it goes up when you can.
- Confirm SAS registration after the reboot. The radio coming back online is not the finish line. It needs to re-register and get its grant before it is legally transmitting again.
- Note your current version first. If you need to roll back, you want to know exactly what you were on.
What About the 436H?
The Baicells 436H is the same radio as the 436Q with a FreedomFi lock on it. Reflashing to standard 436Q firmware is the conversion, which is why people go looking for these files in the first place.
If that is what you are trying to do, we would rather you did not learn on your own hardware. We do this all day: our 436H to 436Q remote conversion service handles the unlock and gets HaloB loaded, or you can just buy a 436Q that is already converted, tested, and running 3.1.14.10 and skip the whole exercise. Building the Rest of Your CBRS Site
Firmware is one piece. If you are standing up a 436Q site, the rest of the stack matters just as much:
- Antennas and jumpers. The 436Q has four N-Type ports and expects a 4-port CBRS sector. Our picks, and the connector trap that catches people, are in Jumpers and Antennas for the Baicells Nova 436Q.
- A core. HaloB is embedded and fine for a single site. Once you are running more than one radio, you want a real core: Rapid5GS Pro gives you a GUI-managed EPC with no CLI work, and rapid5gs.com has the open source version.
- Your SIMs. If you are moving off Baicells CloudCore, you need your subscriber keys out first: exporting IMSI, Ki, and OPC from CloudCore. Then add those subscribers in the Open5GS WebUI.

3.1.14.10 is the newest build we have and its web GUI is a significant improvement over the older one. 3.0.12 is older and, as far as we know, the last firmware Baicells officially published for this platform. Both work. We run 3.1.14.10.
What happened to the official Baicells firmware downloads?
The Baicells website is broken and has not been serving firmware reliably. That is the whole reason this page exists. If their portal comes back, get your firmware from Baicells directly; they are the authoritative source and they can tell you what matches your exact hardware revision.
Will this firmware work on a Baicells 436H?
The 436H is the same hardware as the 436Q with a FreedomFi lock on it. Flashing standard 436Q firmware is exactly how the conversion works, but doing it blind is how people brick radios. If you have a locked 436H, use our 436H to 436Q remote conversion service and we will handle it, or buy a unit that is already converted, tested, and running on known-good firmware.
How do I flash firmware onto a Baicells 436Q?
Log into the radio’s local web GUI, go to the firmware upgrade page, upload the .IMG file, and let the eNB apply it and reboot. Do not power-cycle the unit while it is writing. After it comes back, confirm the running version and confirm the radio has re-registered with your SAS before you consider the job done.
How do I verify the firmware file downloaded correctly?
Compare the SHA-256 checksum of your downloaded file against the ones published on this page. On Linux or macOS run shasum -a 256 BaiBLQ_3.1.14.10.IMG, and on Windows run certutil -hashfile BaiBLQ_3.1.14.10.IMG SHA256. If the hash does not match, download it again and do not flash it. Do I need a SAS to run a Baicells 436Q in the United States?
Yes. CBRS operation in the United States requires the radio to be registered with and granted spectrum by a SAS (Spectrum Access System). That is not optional and it is not something firmware lets you skip. Running a CBRS radio without a valid SAS grant is not legal. Confirm your radio registers and holds a grant after any firmware change, before you rely on it.
